Marine mediation is a structured, confidential dispute‑resolution process used to settle conflicts within the marine, commercial, and maritime sectors without going to court. It has become a central part of the UK legal system, especially following judicial support for compulsory mediation and the push to make dispute resolution quicker, cheaper, and more accessible.
Mediation is now widely encouraged—often required—before or during legal proceedings. It offers a less adversarial alternative to litigation, helping parties resolve issues such as marine insurance disputes, P&I club matters, commercial disagreements, partnership issues, construction and engineering conflicts, inheritance matters, and property disputes.
All our workplace mediators have significant mediation experience and are fully accredited and insured as such. We are fully compliant with the European Code of Practice for Mediators 2004 and Latitude Mediation Code of Practice 2020.
