Cockwells invited to exhibit award-winning craft at exclusive British Motor Yacht Show

Cockwells Duchy 35

Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding has been invited, for the second year running, to exhibit at the British Motor Yacht Show, an exclusive event that provides unparalleled access to the world’s most prestigious motor yachts.

Cockwells will be showcasing Hardy 45 European ‘Lady Ella’, a model that was recently awarded Highly Commended at the Motor Boat Awards 2026, hosted by Motor Boat & Yachting magazine, alongside a Duchy 35, to highlight this versatile and ever-popular motor launch that was crowned winner of the Wheelhouse and Cockpit Cruisers category at the same awards in 2018.

The annual British Motor Yacht Show is curated by Premier Marinas in partnership with Britain’s leading luxury boat brands, Fairline, Princess and Sunseeker. It brings together the most renowned boat building names in the business and its most knowledgeable professionals to create an unmissable experience for anyone who aspires to own an exceptional motor yacht.

Set against the backdrop of Swanwick Marina on the picturesque River Hamble in Hampshire, this event, which takes place from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 May, enables potential purchasers to experience a personalised encounter with premier global boat brands, and explore the very best motor yachts, day boats and RIBS in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere.

Each exhibitor is handpicked so that serious buyers can take their time to evaluate the pinnacle of luxury, innovation and marine sector expertise to help guide their choice.

Hardy 45 European ‘Lady Ella’ is the first hull of this all-new model from Cockwells, which effortlessly combines the robust design of the Hardy range with all the contemporary comforts, technological innovations and seakeeping capabilities of a modern motor yacht.

With her expansive semi-enclosed aft deck helm, spacious saloon with U-shaped seating and a fully equipped galley, and full beam owner’s stateroom aft, complete with a king size bed and full-standing headroom, comfortable double forward guest cabin and dual ensuite heads, this vessel is ergonomically designed to provide plenty of room for all aboard, and is equally at home on adventurous ocean passages as she is meandering the rivers and canals of the UK, Europe and beyond.

Using the same semi-displacement hull of the iconic Hardy 42, designed by renowned naval architect, Andrew Wolstenholme, the Hardy 45 European is not only an ideal inland cruiser, with her low-profile design and folding radar arch to pass beneath bridges with ease, and an optional bow and stern thruster to provide ultimate manoeuvrability in tight spaces.

When venturing beyond the coast to cruise in open waters, the Hardy 45 European seamlessly transitions between marine environments and comes into her own.

Having been delivered in early 2025, ‘Lady Ella’ presents like new, and is now being sold on brokerage for £1.25m due to the current’s owner’s unforeseen circumstances.

The Duchy 35 on show is a highly-specified twin-cabin version that exemplifies what makes this model so special.

Featuring custom extras such as a varnished Iroko transom and double saloon doors, two spacious cabins and a galley situated in the saloon, and stylish underwater lighting, she is also fitted with the smooth-running, powerful twin Yanmar 8LV 350hp engine upgrade for effortless cruising performance, as well as a Seakeeper gyrostabiliser and onboard WiFi.

“We are proud to have been selected to exhibit at this prestigious boat show once again to take our place amongst the world’s leading yacht brands and welcome discerning visitors to step aboard our Hardy 45 European and Duchy 35,” commented Founder and Sales & Technical Director, Dave Cockwell. “From our Cornish HQ, we combine the artisan skills of the traditional shipwright with cutting-edge technology to create some of the world’s most iconic motor yachts and superyacht tenders that deliver superlative performance, timeless elegance and effortless handling.

“Every boat we build reflects our meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality, and our comprehensive global after sales support system ensures that every owner receives the highest level of service, wherever they are located in the world,” added Dave Cockwell.

Attendance at the British Motor Yacht Show is free, but registration is required.
